Many Instagram features, such as making and editing posts, are only available on the Instagram mobile app, and users would not be able to do so on the Instagram website for desktop.
However, as seen in the images posted on his Twitter account, developer and app analyst Alessandro Paluzzi points out that Instagram is currently working on allowing the ability to build posts via the Instagram website for desktops. On the Instagram page, there is a new plus button at the top of the navigation screen.
After pressing the plus button, a window will appear where you can upload the images you want to share, with the aspect ratios square (1: 1), portrait (4: 5), and landscape (4: 5) available (16: 9). Has also made it possible to crop those images.
Then, just like on the Instagram mobile app, you can apply filters, add a caption, tag people, and enter location data.
This function is currently being tested internally, according to Paluzzi, and no details on a more widely available date has been published.
However, it is unclear if desktop users will be able to upload tales, reels, or IGTV content with this update.
